He saw (What he didn’t see)

In (Gen 25: 31-32, 43) we see how Esau sold his birthright to Jacob just because he was famished. I quote verses 31, 32 and from 34 “And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright”, “And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me?” and “…thus Esau despised his birthright”, respectively.

Going on to chapter 37 we can see from verses 24, 30 and 34 how Jacob took Esau’s blessings, how Esau came shortly after that happened and how Esau cried ‘a great and exceeding bitter cry’.

 

 

Four important key points that this story brings to light include:

  • Recognising self worth even in tight situations
  • Attention and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit
  • Seeking God’s Mercy
  • Salvation is for all
